“When I’m thinking about starting the year my first priority is establishing classroom expectations that really allow for success in PBL… I think especially in PBL where we’re expecting them (students) to take risks giving them a hand in creating those classroom expectations.”
SHOW NOTES
As a launch into a new school year, Josh and Andrea take a listener question about starting the school year off for a successful year of PBL. They approach this by evaluating elements of PBL using an adjusted protocol from School Reform Initiative called “What? So What? Now What?” Through this protocol, they discuss the idea of launching a school year. They then outline some non-negotiable elements for getting your school year and classroom set up for successful PBL implementation during the year. Finally, they discuss strategies for implementing each of these elements from day one, no matter what setting as schools begin to open both in-person and virtually this fall.
